Hot-moulded pressboard insulation components for complex transformer geometries
Moulded pressboard components are produced by forming electrical grade pressboard under heat and pressure using precision moulds. This process allows the manufacture of complex three-dimensional insulation parts that cannot be produced efficiently through machining alone.
Typical components include angle rings, snouts, lead exits, collars, and washers. These are designed to adapt insulation structures to electric field conditions within transformers and are critical in controlling stress distribution in high-voltage zones.
Moulded components provide excellent mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and dielectric performance after oil impregnation. They offer better electric field distribution compared to assembled multi-part alternatives.
Components can be supplied individually or as part of complete insulation kits based on transformer design requirements.
